BUGS Builders Welcome the Year of the Dragon For the Year of the Dragon, the team took on the challenge of building one of the most beloved and auspicious animals in the Chinese zodiac. Symbolizing strength, prosperity, good fortune, and success, the dragon holds a special place in the hearts of many BUGS members, making this year’s mascot build an especially exciting project. The build team consisted of Neo Chun Guan, Khor Chin Seong, Andrew Quek, Ong San San, and Chris Lim. As the curtains close on ENBLOCK 2023, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our builders, participants, volunteers, partners, and visitors who made this year’s event such a memorable one. This year was particularly special as we explored a new exhibition format, with LEGO creations showcased in custom display cases spread across the 2nd and 3rd floors of the mall. 2023 Year Of The Rabbit Giant Mascot Build – TRU Vivo City/JEM
Double the Rabbits, Double the Prosperity! The annual BUGS giant zodiac mascot build returned once again, and for the Year of the Rabbit, members decided that one rabbit simply wasn’t enough. Since the rabbit is traditionally associated with abundance, prosperity, and good fortune, BUGS builders took on the unique challenge of building not one, but two giant rabbits to welcome the Lunar New Year. The first rabbit was constructed on 30 December 2022 at Toys “R” Us, VivoCity, where a team of dedicated builders gathered to kick off the celebrations. ENBLOCK 2022 marked a significant milestone as the world gradually emerged from the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and began returning to normal. Held at the Drama Centre atop the National Library, the event brought together builders and visitors eager to reconnect through their shared love of LEGO.
