Officially Announced: LEGO® Star Wars™ Executor Super Star Destroyer™ 75457 & Darth Vader’s LIGHTSABER™ 40897 (Gift with Purchase)

LEGO is going very big with its latest addition to the LEGO Star Wars collection. The newly announced LEGO Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457) is an enormous Ultimate Collector Series model that recreates Darth Vader’s intimidating flagship from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

And for fans who manage to get their hands on the set during its launch period, LEGO has prepared an appropriately sinister bonus: Darth Vader’s LIGHTSABER (40897) as a Gift with Purchase.

A New Flagship for the LEGO Star Wars Collection

Set 75457 Executor Super Star Destroyer is one of LEGO’s most ambitious Star Wars models to date.

Containing a staggering 6,130 pieces, the 18+ Ultimate Collector Series set recreates Darth Vader’s personal flagship in enormous detail. At more than 136cm long, it becomes the longest LEGO Star Wars brick-built model ever produced.

The sheer size of the model is immediately impressive. The Executor’s distinctive dagger-shaped silhouette has been recreated using a combination of LEGO System construction and Technic outriggers, giving the huge model the structural strength needed to support its long, slender body without making it unnecessarily bulky.

LEGO has also used some interesting construction techniques, including controlled inversions that change the building orientation during construction. This allows the designers to expose both studded and tube surfaces, creating additional detail around the central spine and underside of the ship.

Built for Display

Despite its enormous dimensions, LEGO has designed the Executor primarily as a display model.

The finished ship sits on an integrated minimalist display stand and is accompanied by a to-scale Star Destroyer. The smaller vessel provides an immediate sense of just how enormous the Executor is supposed to be within the Star Wars universe.

There’s even a tiny Millennium Falcon, represented by a single 1×1 round tile, giving fans a fun visual reference to the famous scene from The Empire Strikes Back.

The completed model measures:

  • 136cm long
  • 50cm wide
  • 20cm high
  • Approximately 5kg

That’s going to require a fairly substantial display space!

Seven Characters — and a First for LEGO Star Wars

One of the biggest attractions isn’t actually the enormous spaceship.

LEGO is including seven minifigures with 75457:

  • Darth Vader
  • Boba Fett
  • Dengar
  • Bossk
  • IG-88
  • 4-LOM
  • Zuckuss

For the first time, all six bounty hunters who were summoned by Darth Vader are included together in a single LEGO set.

The set also includes a small-scale recreation of the Executor’s bridge, where builders can recreate the famous scene in which Vader meets the bounty hunters.

There are some nice updates to the characters too. Dengar receives a refreshed backpack build, while IG-88 gets a brand-new moulded head.

For Star Wars minifigure collectors, this could arguably be just as important as the Executor itself.

And Then There’s the GWP — Darth Vader’s LIGHTSABER

To accompany the launch, LEGO has also announced 40897 Darth Vader’s LIGHTSABER as a special Gift with Purchase.

The 174-piece model recreates Darth Vader’s iconic lightsaber in brick-built form and comes with its own display stand and nameplate. At approximately 23cm long, it is designed primarily as a desk or shelf display piece.

Rather than being a minifigure accessory, this is essentially a miniature display model in its own right.

It also makes a lot of sense as the companion GWP for the Executor. Darth Vader’s lightsaber is one of the most recognisable objects in the entire Star Wars universe, and placing it alongside the enormous flagship should make for an impressive display.

How Do You Get 40897?

Here’s the important part for collectors.

LEGO has confirmed that 40897 Darth Vader’s LIGHTSABER will be offered as a Gift with Purchase when purchasing 75457 Executor Super Star Destroyer during the launch promotion.

The official promotion runs from:

1 October – 7 October 2026

and is available while stocks last.

LEGO’s US product page also confirms that LEGO Insiders will receive early access beginning October 1, ahead of the general release.

The official LEGO announcement currently gives the GWP specifically as a qualifying purchase of 75457, rather than a general Star Wars spending threshold.

Price and Availability

The Executor Super Star Destroyer will be priced at:

US$799.99 / £649.99 / €749.99 / SGD$1069.90

and will be available through LEGO Stores and LEGO.com beginning 1 October 2026.

LEGO’s US site currently lists the general public availability as October 4, with LEGO Insiders receiving early access from October 1.

That makes the first week of October particularly important for collectors wanting both the massive UCS set and the limited GWP.

Final Thoughts

With 6,130 pieces, seven characters, a 136cm-long flagship and a 174-piece Darth Vader lightsaber GWP, LEGO has certainly made a statement with its latest Star Wars announcement.

For serious LEGO Star Wars collectors, 75457 is likely to be one of the headline releases of 2026. It combines the spectacle expected from a UCS model with some genuinely interesting engineering and, for the first time in one set, brings together Vader and all six of his bounty hunters.

And if you’re planning to buy it, October 1–7 is the date to remember if you want to secure 40897 Darth Vader’s LIGHTSABER while stocks last.
