BUGS Member Spotlight: Tristen‘s Stealthy Lockheed SR-71 “Blackbird”
When he’s not serving National Service, BUGS member Tristen is busy building military-inspired LEGO creations!
A self-confessed military buff, Tristen spent an impressive two months taking this project from concept to completion. Countless hours of planning, redesigning, and fine-tuning went into every detail of the build, resulting in a creation that he’s incredibly proud of.

“SR-71 Blackbird MOC
Inspired by the iconic Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird and its appearance as Jetfire in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
First introduced in the 1960s, the SR-71 is known as one of the fastest aircraft ever built, capable of speeds exceeding Mach 3 (over 3,500 km/h or 2,200 mph)—fast enough to fly from New York to London in under two hours.
This custom build measures 72 cm in length, features retractable landing gear, and includes seating for two minifigures in the cockpit.”
