From our early engagement events in 2015 to our collaborations with LEGO Singapore, BUGS has always been about bringing people together through creativity, building and a shared love of LEGO. Over the years, we’ve taken part in everything from MOC workshops, racing and diorama displays to Lunar New Year builds, movie-themed activities and community events. We’ve also had the opportunity to work with LEGO Singapore at locations including Tampines Mall, Plaza Singapura, Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay. On 5 September 2026, BUGS (Bricks User Group Singapore) came together for another fun-filled community gathering. It was a relaxed afternoon filled with LEGO building, games, plenty of laughter and, most importantly, an opportunity for members and their families to spend time together. The builder has expanded the scene around the lighthouse, creating a larger environment that gives the model a stronger sense of scale and storytelling. Rather than simply displaying the building, the customisation turns it into an active battlefield filled with characters, action and detail. BUGS Member Spotlight: Gerald Cacas recreates one of the Singapore Army’s most powerful armoured vehicles in an impressive LEGO MOC For LEGO builder Gerald Cacas, building a tank was a first. His choice was an ambitious one — the Leopard 2SG Main Battle Tank, one of the Singapore Army’s most recognizable armoured vehicles. Created as a MOC for his display at ENBLOCK 2025, Gerald describes the project as a rush build, taking only around 10 to 15 hours to design and build. BUGS Member Spotlight: Tristen‘s Tranquil Japanese-Themed Garden This impressive LEGO creation captures the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese garden, centred around a striking red torii gate and a large dark-tiled temple-style structure. What immediately stands out is the density and layering of the landscaping—the builder has used a huge variety of green elements, flowers and foliage to create a very natural, almost overgrown appearance. From a building-technique perspective, the vegetation is particularly effective. Instead of relying on simple clusters of identical pieces, different leaf, flower and plant elements are layered at various heights and angles. BUGS Member Spotlight: Eugene Tan‘s lost pieces of Singapore’s iconic Haw Par Villa Haw Par Villa is one of Singapore’s most distinctive cultural landmarks, known for its colourful statues, Chinese mythology and the famous Ten Courts of Hell. But the park we see today is very different from the Haw Par Villa of the past. A unique LEGO model offers a glimpse into that lost history, recreating three prominent features that have disappeared over time: the original mountain landscape, the main villa and the Crab Lady pool. For Nicholas Sim, better known online as “NickGreat”, it became a mission to recreate an entire fleet. A lifelong fan of the classic 1980s M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) cartoon and toy line, Nicholas began designing LEGO versions of the iconic transforming vehicles in 2022.
