
Our Commitment
Bricks User Group Singapore (BUGS) is a community of LEGO enthusiasts who share a common passion for creativity, learning, friendship, and collaboration. As a Recognized LEGO User Group (RLUG), we strive to maintain a welcoming, respectful, and family-friendly environment for members of all ages and backgrounds.
All members are expected to uphold the following principles when participating in BUGS activities, online discussions, exhibitions, and events.
1. Treat Everyone with Respect
- Be courteous, respectful, and considerate towards all members, visitors, partners, sponsors, and members of the public.
- Respect differences in age, experience, background, opinions, and building styles.
- Harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation, or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.
2. Foster a Welcoming Community
- Encourage and support fellow members in their LEGO journey.
- Share knowledge, techniques, and experiences generously.
- Help create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to participate.
3. Maintain a Family-Friendly Environment
- BUGS is a family-oriented community that welcomes members of all ages.
- Members should conduct themselves appropriately during events and online interactions.
- Content, language, or behaviour deemed inappropriate for younger audiences should be avoided.
4. Respect Others’ Creations and Property
- Do not touch, modify, move, or dismantle another person’s LEGO creation without permission.
- Handle displays, exhibition materials, and community assets with care.
- Respect the time, effort, and creativity invested by fellow builders.
5. Collaborate Responsibly
- Honour commitments made to group projects, exhibitions, and events whenever possible.
- Communicate promptly if circumstances prevent participation.
- Work constructively with fellow members and volunteers to achieve shared goals.
6. Represent BUGS Positively
- Members represent BUGS whenever participating in public events, exhibitions, media engagements, or online discussions associated with the group.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that reflects positively on the community and the LEGO hobby.
- Do not make official statements on behalf of BUGS without prior authorization.
7. Respect LEGO® Intellectual Property and Partnerships
- Comply with all guidelines established by The LEGO Group regarding RLUG activities.
- Do not engage in activities that could negatively impact BUGS’ relationship with The LEGO Group, partners, sponsors, or venue operators.
- Use LEGO trademarks and branding responsibly and appropriately.
8. Safety First
- Follow all venue rules, event regulations, and safety instructions.
- Ensure displays, electrical equipment, and event materials are set up safely.
- Report any safety concerns to event organizers immediately.
9. Online Conduct
- Maintain respectful and constructive communication in BUGS social media groups, forums, messaging platforms, and other online spaces.
- Avoid personal attacks, inflammatory comments, and disruptive behaviour.
- Respect the privacy and confidentiality of fellow members.
10. Have Fun and Inspire Others
- Remember that BUGS exists to celebrate creativity, imagination, friendship, and the joy of LEGO building.
- Support fellow members, share your passion, and help inspire the next generation of builders.
Enforcement
BUGS reserves the right to address behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct. Depending on the severity of the issue, actions may include a verbal warning, written warning, temporary suspension from activities, or termination of membership.
By participating in BUGS activities and events, members agree to uphold the values and standards outlined in this Code of Conduct.
