LEGO x Dragon Ball: A Legendary Collaboration Begins with Shenron & Goku
The wish has finally been granted! After years of fans dreaming of seeing one of anime’s most iconic franchises in LEGO form, the LEGO Group has officially announced its first-ever collaboration with Toei Animation, bringing Dragon Ball into the LEGO universe. And what a way to begin!
The partnership kicks off with the spectacular LEGO Icons Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku (11390) — a 1,764-piece display model celebrating the original Dragon Ball series.
Summon Shenron in LEGO Form
At the centre of the set is Shenron, the legendary Eternal Dragon, dramatically rising from the seven Dragon Balls. LEGO designers studied animation frames and classic poses from the original series to capture Shenron’s distinctive long, flowing body, scales, claws and imposing presence.
Adding even more character to the scene is Kid Goku, riding his trusty Kintoun (Flying Nimbus). The Goku minifigure can be detached and repositioned, while Shenron’s head and claws can also be posed, allowing fans to create their own display.
The seven Dragon Balls themselves form the base of the model, completing a scene that should be instantly recognisable to any longtime Dragon Ball fan.
A New Era for LEGO Dragon Ball
What makes this announcement particularly exciting isn’t just the set itself — it’s the partnership between LEGO and Toei Animation.
This is the first time the two companies have officially collaborated on Dragon Ball, with LEGO confirming that more Dragon Ball sets are coming in 2027 and beyond. So 11390 isn’t simply a one-off display model; it marks the beginning of a new LEGO Dragon Ball collection.
