Officially Announced: LEGO® Ninjago Ivo’s Ninja Dojo 71888

LEGO NINJAGO 71888 Ivo’s Ninja Dojo Revealed – A Spectacular 3,495-Piece Adventure Arrives in 2027!

LEGO NINJAGO is preparing to kick off 2027 in spectacular fashion with the reveal of LEGO 71888 Ivo’s Ninja Dojo, an enormous 3,495-piece model inspired by the upcoming animated series NINJAGO Legends: Embers + Ashes.

Officially revealed on 6 November 2026, this elaborate multi-level dojo promises a combination of intricate architecture, hidden surprises, interactive battle features and an impressive collection of 12 minifigures.

Standing over 37 centimetres tall and stretching 44 centimetres wide, Ivo’s Ninja Dojo is much more than another training ground for aspiring ninjas. It is an expansive display model that brings an important location from the new NINJAGO storyline into brick-built form.

With removable levels, secret details, elemental lanterns and even a futuristic hoverbike, the set looks set to become one of the standout NINJAGO releases of early 2027.

And for Singapore collectors, pre-orders are already open at S$429.90, ahead of its 1 January 2027 release.

A Ninja Dojo Unlike Any Other

At first glance, Ivo’s Ninja Dojo immediately stands out for its striking architecture.

The multi-level structure combines traditional dojo-inspired design with the fantastical elements that have become a hallmark of the NINJAGO universe. Its layered construction, distinctive rooflines and elaborate detailing create an impressive silhouette that should appeal to both younger fans and adult collectors.

However, the real attraction lies within the building.

Unlike a conventional LEGO display model, Ivo’s Ninja Dojo has been designed to encourage exploration. Individual levels can be removed, allowing builders to examine the various rooms and discover hidden references scattered throughout the structure.

The interior also features elemental lanterns, connecting the building to the mystical powers and traditions of the NINJAGO world.

For those who enjoy recreating action scenes, LEGO has incorporated several interactive mechanisms. Certain sections can collapse or fall away, while other features allow characters to engage in simulated battles.

These mechanisms should provide plenty of opportunities for imaginative play without compromising the model’s appeal as a substantial display piece.

The set also includes a hoverbike, adding a futuristic element to the otherwise traditional-looking dojo. It’s a fitting combination for NINJAGO, a theme that has always mixed ancient martial arts, elemental powers and advanced technology. The Brick Fan+1

Twelve Minifigures Bring the Story to Life

A large NINJAGO set wouldn’t be complete without an impressive selection of characters, and LEGO 71888 certainly delivers.

The set includes 12 minifigures representing characters from NINJAGO Legends: Embers + Ashes:

  • Jin
  • Mira
  • Nate
  • Tre
  • Master Ivo
  • Master Zane
  • Gigi
  • Duncan
  • Oni Imperator
  • Oni Warrior
  • Madge
  • Roland

The selection is particularly interesting because it introduces several characters associated with the new animated storyline.

Master Ivo naturally takes centre stage, while Master Zane provides a familiar connection for longtime NINJAGO fans.

The inclusion of an Oni Imperator and Oni Warrior is equally intriguing, suggesting that the darker, supernatural elements of NINJAGO mythology will continue to play an important role.

Each character comes equipped with suitable accessories, including swords, nunchucks, sai, spears and other weapons.

For minifigure collectors, this diverse lineup could become one of the set’s biggest attractions, particularly if some of these characters remain exclusive to this release. LEGO has not, however, confirmed their long-term exclusivity. The Brick Fan+1

NINJAGO Legends: Embers + Ashes – A New Chapter in the NINJAGO Universe

One of the most exciting aspects of LEGO 71888 is its connection to NINJAGO Legends: Embers + Ashes, a new animated adventure expanding the world of NINJAGO.

Since its introduction in 2011, LEGO NINJAGO has grown from a relatively straightforward story about young ninjas learning the art of Spinjitzu into a sprawling fantasy universe filled with dragons, ancient civilisations, elemental masters and powerful supernatural enemies.

Over the years, the franchise has undergone several major transformations.

The original storyline introduced fans to Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Lloyd and their wise mentor, Master Wu. Later adventures expanded the mythology through the discovery of the Oni and Dragons, the introduction of new elemental powers and increasingly ambitious conflicts.

More recently, NINJAGO: Dragons Rising introduced the Merge, a catastrophic event that brought previously separate realms together, creating new threats, alliances and opportunities for storytelling.

Embers + Ashes continues this tradition of expanding the NINJAGO universe with new characters and locations.

Although detailed plot information remains limited, the newly revealed dojo provides an intriguing glimpse into the setting and characters of the upcoming adventure.

The presence of Master Ivo, Master Zane and the Oni characters suggests an interesting combination of martial arts training, elemental powers and potentially dangerous adversaries.

Exactly how these characters fit into the larger story remains to be seen, but LEGO 71888 offers fans an early opportunity to explore this new chapter through an elaborate physical model.

The Oni: A Darker Side of NINJAGO Mythology

Longtime NINJAGO fans will recognise the Oni as some of the most mysterious and dangerous beings in the franchise.

Inspired in part by the supernatural creatures of Japanese folklore, the Oni in NINJAGO are ancient beings associated with destruction, darkness and powerful magic.

They were introduced as the counterparts to the Dragons, which represent creation. This contrast between creation and destruction became an important part of the franchise’s mythology.

The Oni played a particularly significant role in the March of the Oni storyline, where their arrival threatened the entire realm of NINJAGO.

Their inclusion in LEGO 71888, through the Oni Imperator and Oni Warrior minifigures, is therefore an interesting development.

While the precise roles of these new characters have yet to be fully explained, their presence adds a potentially sinister dimension to what might otherwise appear to be a peaceful ninja training location.

For collectors who enjoy the more fantastical and supernatural aspects of NINJAGO, these figures could be particularly appealing.

A Promising Start to NINJAGO in 2027

LEGO NINJAGO 71888 Ivo’s Ninja Dojo looks set to become one of the most exciting releases in the theme’s early 2027 lineup.

Its impressive architecture, extensive interior detailing and interactive battle features offer an appealing combination of building complexity and imaginative play.

The inclusion of 12 characters from NINJAGO Legends: Embers + Ashes also makes it an interesting introduction to the franchise’s latest adventure.

While it may not offer the same piece count or minifigure quantity as some previous premium NINJAGO sets, its distinctive design and connection to the upcoming storyline give it an identity of its own.

For longtime NINJAGO fans, the set represents another opportunity to expand their collection with a substantial new location.

For younger builders, it offers an elaborate environment in which to recreate battles, explore hidden chambers and invent entirely new adventures.

And for collectors who simply appreciate impressive LEGO architecture, Ivo’s Ninja Dojo could be an attractive addition to their display shelves.
